Midelt

Located at the foot of Mount Ayachi, in the High Atlas mountain range and the plains of the Middle Atlas, Midelt has a splendid landscape and mountains as rich for the eyes as for business.

Recognized as the capital of crystals, its soils boast a great variety of riches such as vanadinite, barite, cerussite, quartz, aragonite, malachite, azurite, tourmaline (…) in addition to minerals such as lead and zinc.

Its nearby mines were once one of the most important lead deposits in Morocco, allowing a particularly rapid development (being the first place where electricity arrived) as well as a peculiar history and culture.
